Biographical Information

Before College:

My father was a Marine resulting in much travel and 10 different schools until graduating in 1982 from West Springfield High School in West Springfield, VA.

College:

 82/83 West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.

 83/85 West Liberty State College, West Liberty, WV. I attended with my parents, whom were one year behind me. I entered medical school without an undergraduate degree. Only 1 percent of medical students have this distinction.

Medical School:

 85/89 West Virginia University School of Medicine, Morgantown. I attended the last two years at the Charleston division at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Residency:

89/92 Pediatrics at the Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV.

Board Certification:

 93 Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics. Continuously re-certified since then.

Fellowships:

 American Academy of Pediatrics. F.A.A.P. means a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Hospital Privileges:

 Active staff at the Charleston Area Medical Center.

Teaching Positions:

 Assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at the Charleston division of the West Virginia University School of Medicine.

Practice:

 7/15/92 to 9/15/95 in solo private practice.

 9/16/95 to 6/30/1999 in group practice with Carepoint Physicians, Inc. Carepoint disbanded.

 7/1/99 to present in group practice with ABC Pediatrics, PLLC

I have practiced at the same location since 1992, only the practice name and business arrangement has changed.

Family:

My daughter Lauren was born 3/13/95 and Kelsey was born 3/18/98. My son Joseph was born 11/14/00 and William was born 2/13/2002. My wife Renee and I were married in October 2017. Renee has 2 children, Olivia and Christian. Renee has been a flight attendant since 1988 with American Airlines and also sells Medicare Supplement Insurance.

Special Mention:

Featured in two nationally circulated videos produced by Cambridge Career Products involving childhood immunizations and routine well baby check-ups.

Appeared on numerous special reports on WCHS channel 8 news, WVAH channel 11 news, and occasional stories on WSAZ channel 3.

From 7/00 to 4/2015 I appeared in a live weekly “pediatrician on call" segment on WCHS and WVAH Tv in Charleston WV.

I was featured on over 100 weekly health segments called "Babysteps" with Jenifer McAndrews on WCHS / WVAH covering all aspects of pediatric health. The segment won several awards.
