LITTLE BITS / LEGOS / ARDUINO PAGE

ADHD MEDICATION DISPENSER: PDF OF COMPLETE PROJECT

This page is devoted to a hobby of mine. Before going to medical school, I had several interests in biomechanical / bioelectical engineering and electronics. I actually started out in engineering school before realising that I would not get enough biology hours to go to medical school with just a engineering degree. I switched to a chemistry major and got into medical school in 3 years instead of 4. Needless to say, medical school and residency took up all my time, so I abandonded all this. When RadioShack went out of business, they had huge discounts on LittleBits, Arduinos, etc. With LittleBits, you litterally need no training in electronics to make things. The ArduinoBit really opens things up though. I have been programming in BASIC since high school (back in the very early 80s). I even wrote software for my medical practice and have been using it since 1999. Being able to program a computer to do something in the phyiscal world is pretty cool. The ArduinoBit allows you to do that. While it is programmed in C, its a very basic version of C and is not all that different from BASIC. The Arduino web site (www.arduino.cc) and www.github.com) have loads of open source examples and lots of resources to help you learn to program Arduinos like a pro.
